Description

Two museums, two historic sites, an interpretation center and a historic house.  In the course of the past twenty years, the responsibilities of the Musée de la civilisation have rapidly increased. From a society museum it has become an integrated museological complex.

A tour within the francophonie of Americas!
Turned towards the future

Through interactive multimedia installations, maps, and excerpts from French-language literary works, see how today's French-speaking world of the Americas sees itself. The Francophones of the Americas revealed - their idioms, faces, and accents.
Proud of its past
This tour will lead you to Musée de l'Amérique française, one of the very first museums created in Canada, in 1806, on the Séminaire de Québec historical site. The museum recounts the birth of French culture in North America and bears witness to the earliest contacts between French-speaking North Americans and the people of other cultures.

THE CENTRE D'INTERPRÉTATION DE PLACE-ROYALE

Cradle of French civilizations in America
Archeological exhibitions, a 3D film on Samuel de Champlain, a costume workshop, guided visits and numerous activities, all contribute to bring back the 400 years of history of one of the oldest areas in North America. 

THE CHEVALIER HOUSE

Take a journey back in time and admire the magnificient 18th and 19th centuries decors in A Sense of the Past exhibition. Moreover, see the city according to historian Jean Provencher in the exhibition Old-Quebec, Secrets and Stories and its Audio Tour.
